This is a commonly asked question, as the insurance companies have done a great job to steer people to their "preferred" shops.   All this means is that those shops have agreed play ball with them and keep costs low.  This ends up being a bad idea as most of these shops have high overheads and are getting paid less than your repair should merit and thus you get a hurried, less than perfect repair.
