In order to remove the hatch you must first remove the spoiler. Screws and bolts but also 6 tabs that you have reach up and pry. May seem easy at first but when you remove those bolts and you got the love tabs left, you'll realize why it's difficult. You must have clip removal tool that's at least a foot-and-a-half long to get the right leverage. There are two quick disconnects on the hatch itself.  Remove the plastic trim and disconnec. A hail technician uses the back of the vehicle to get a better view of the dents.  So when there are more than a few good dents on the roof, the hatch must come off to do a proper hail repair.
